BALLENGER CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S mission is "Building a Better Tomorrow by Creating an Environment for Success Today."

On the outskirts of the City of Frederick, our school is nestled within the Kingsbrook Community of apartments, townhomes and single-family homes. Over the past few years, the BCES community has grown and changed to become more diverse.

Our school vision focuses on working cooperatively to ensure an environment where students will gain the necessary skills needed to face the many challenges in their future. We will create a safe, nurturing community of support. All students will be actively engaged in authentic tasks and problem solving that have real-world connections and encourage academic, social and personal success. An appreciation of diverse cultures will be fostered.

We believe that all students can be academically and behaviorally successful at Ballenger Creek Elementary School. We practice the tenets of Character Counts! -- caring, citizenship, fairness, respect, responsibility and trustworthiness. We also understand the necessity of teaching and supporting desired behaviors. In accordance with our beliefs, we have established four school-wide rules: students will be respectful, responsible, ready to learn and safe.

BCES draws from the community's wealth of multicultural backgrounds, careers and leadership skills to achieve our goals for students. By creating a successful collaboration among staff, students, parents and community, we foster a safe, supportive learning environment where the physical, aesthetic, moral and intellectual needs of every child can be met with daily success.
