Located in the western part of the City of Frederick, WAVERLEY ELEMENTARY is surrounded by a diverse neighborhood from which most of our students can walk to school. Our campus is well maintained and offers the latest technology enhancements.

The school has served as a beacon of community involvement and is used as a center for various community activities. Our partnership with the Judy Center; Parent, Child, Family Literacy; and Head Start, enriches our ability to provide extended learning opportunities and quality childcare for the students we serve. Our goal is to promote lifelong learning.

Waverley is a perfect reflection of the diversity in our community. Our school serves many foreign-born students who come to school not speaking English. We provide an inclusive learning environment in which high expectations and strategic instruction assist in meeting the diverse needs of all students. Our school motto, "One School, One Community," reflects our practices and beliefs. We support early intervention and access to challenging curricula for all.

Our staff, students and parents embrace the principles of Character Counts! including the six "pillars of character" – caring, citizenship, fairness, respect, responsibility and trustworthiness.

Waverley's Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is active in improving student achievement. We also enjoy the benefits of several business partnerships, which eagerly support the school’s mission and instructional needs. We will continue to work together to move students towards excellence.
