MIDDLETOWN ELEMENTARY, in the western part of Frederick County, has educated the community's children for 30 years. When visitors arrive they are attracted to a scenic view of the Middletown Valley. The campus includes the community's middle and high schools, affording our students the opportunity for extra-curricular activities such as one-to-one tutoring and attendance at cultural arts programs, Evenings with the Arts, agricultural fairs, participation in vocal and instrumental music performances as well as theatrical productions. As visitors stroll through our hallways, they have commented on the sense of purpose our students demonstrate as active, involved learners and the warm, friendly climate readily apparent throughout the building. Ours is a rich academic environment and a great place to learn for all students.

With the 2006-07 opening of nearby Middletown Primary School for pre-kindergarten through grade 2, Middletown Elementary embraces an unusual opportunity to pursue our mission as an intermediate school, targeting the particular academic and developmental needs of students in grades 3, 4 and 5.

High academic standards, an exceptional level of parent, guardian and community involvement, and an enthusiastic, dedicated staff are at the heart of our success. We continue to build on our success as we become even more effective at addressing the needs and interests of children in the intermediate grades. In collaboration with Frostburg State University, we also engage in activities that promote student learning while supporting the professional growth and development of teaching interns and practicing teachers. Our staff, the Middletown Primary staff, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and University collaborative teams have joined to create a rich partnership on behalf of the students.

Middletown Elementary is a place where everyone is special and the love of learning enables every student to experience personal success. We eagerly invite parents, guardians and visitors to our school so that we can demonstrate our commitment to the best for our students.
