2017 Maryland School Performance Data provides a summary of state-reported school performance data. Due to lagged data reporting, the report may include performance data for the prior school year.

A National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, FREDERICK HIGH is the oldest school in Frederick County. Located in a beautiful setting adjacent to the City of Frederick's Baker Park, the school’s diverse population reflects its surrounding dynamic community.

Frederick High School's tradition of excellence began in 1891 with girls and boys attending school in different buildings and matriculation occurring after three years. The current facility opened in 1939.

Approximately 90% of our students attend community college, four-year college or business or technical schools. Our SAT scores continue to outdistance the average of those in the state of Maryland and the nation. Frederick High School is proud of our Advanced Placement record in which over 75% of our students taking the AP exams earn college credit via their scores.

Our students are an integral part of the decision-making process through their participation in over 50 clubs and activities, the Student Government Association, and membership on the School Improvement Team. Our community, staff and students value the richness of diversity of our school. We continue to take pride in our competitive teams both athletically and academically.

Our school motto is the basis for our school’s vision: "Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve."
