Welcome to Our School
The original LINGANORE HIGH SCHOOL opened in 1962 to meet the academic needs of the eastern portion of Frederick County, Maryland. In 2008, Linganore High School moved into the newly constructed Oakdale High School building for a two-year tenure during which a new LHS was constructed on the site of the original school. The new LHS opened in August 2010.

We welcome students from the largest geographical school attendance area in the county, including those residing in Libertytown, Monrovia, Mt. Airy and New Market.

Our school provides a cohesive sense of community. Over the years we continue to build a strong tradition of academic achievement and success, earning the pride of the greater Lancer community and designations as both a Maryland and National Blue Ribbon School.

The dedicated and highly skilled LHS staff takes great pride in our studentsí accomplishments in the academic, performing arts and athletic arenas. Our teachers are committed to professional learning communities in which student assessment data is closely monitored and analyzed to improve classroom instruction.

We look forward to continue working together as a Lancer family so that our mission, "to equip students for life-long learning through lessons in academics, accountability and attitude," is a reality for the entire LHS community.
