By the end of March, FCPS will bus all pre-k through grade 2 students at Middletown PS, Thurmont PS and Woodsboro ES.
At the start of the 2007-08 school year, walking distance is reduced from:
- 1.25 to 0.75 miles for elementary students
- 1.75 to 1.5 miles for secondary students
- For school bus riders, walking distance to the bus stop is reduced from 0.75 to 0.5 mile.

Expert The Daughters of the American Revolution have named Linganore HS history teacher Wayne Coblentz Maryland's Outstanding Teacher of American History.
Academic The TJ HS team won this year's countywide Academic Tournament, and the 2007 Curriculum Specialists Award went to TJ HS academic coach Teresa Wilson.
