Vol. 10, No. 4: April 2007
Need the Facts?

reportcardApril is School Library Media Month. FCPS offers staff and students free online access to up-to-date resources. Check out reference sites from World Book and Almanac to SIRS (Social Issues Resource Series), leading newspapers and more: http://www.fcps.org/content/portals.cfm.

For access from an FCPS-networked computer, no password is needed. For home access, get a password from your school media specialist or from Walter.Condren@fcps.org if you're a central office employee.

Research shows that student achievement increases when classroom teachers and media specialists collaborate. Marsha Thompson (photo above) is just one example of the many outstanding FCPS media specialists. A Linganore teacher says, "I dream it, and Marsha makes it happen," from providing Web sites, facts, books and reviews to even repainting the school's meeting room!
